The department is actively involved in conducting research projects funded by various organizations. Many projects were successfully completed earlier including community based multicentric epidemiological study on dengue and HIV/AIDS. At present, the department is having four ICMR funded projects and two more have been approved, two from pharmaceutical companies and one project is submitted to WHO for funding. Every year, more than five undergraduate students take up STS projects funded by ICMR. Also, some postgraduate students get grant from ICMR for their thesis work.  The department publishes a large number of original papers every year. During the last year, the department has published 111 articles in various national and international journals. The department is also contributing research papers to the college magazine “MAMC Journal of Medical Sciences”. Several faculty are on editorial board of the reputed journals of the discipline and also they act as peer reviewers. Number of popular titles for undergraduate and postgraduates have been published by the faculty particularly two books on national programmes and policies, two books on MCQ, one book on bio medical waste management, one dictionary on public health, one on viva and practical examination. Many faculty members have edited popular books, contributed a large number of chapters not only to the discipline but to other specialty also. They have written modules for various organizations such as WHO, IGNOU, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. Of India etc. In addition to this, health education materials in the form of posters for the department and national programmes are prepared so also a number of pamphlets on various subjects for awareness creation in the community are made. The department has developed its own undergraduate workbook and postgraduate logbook.
